It doesn’t matter where I travel, I love sunsets. There’s something about the light that goes beyond the experience. Every day, every one of us has a sunset happen in our lives. Yet, how often do we take the time to enjoy it?

Years ago, I was having coffee one morning on Maui, at my favorite little coffee place in Honokowai. I ended up having a conversation with a local surfer – a dude that spends his summers during the big tourist season, teaching travelers from the mainland the basics of surfing. During the winter, he hits Tahiti on the professional circuit. As we talked, he mentioned that the view toward the Pacific was his office view. Then he said, “Many people see sunsets. Few feel them”. Profound words from a true sage.
