“Mala Sunset Surf” – Now Available at Pono Images

When visiting Maui, most people end up watching sunset from one of the resorts, beach parks, or within one of the towns along the west coast of Maui. “Mala Sunset Surf”, a new image available from Pono Images, was taken off Mala Wharf, in front of the Jodo Mission in Lahaina, Maui.

Unlike many of the “popular” beach spots for sunset, the beach in front of the Jodo Mission in Lahaina is a little bit less populated than many other areas. Located just south of a group of restaurants, including Aloha Mixed Plate, Old Lahaina Luau, Mala, Honu, and Frida’s, this location has the abandoned Mala Wharf to the right, and if you walk south along the beach, private homes and Lahaina Town to the left.

IN the distance, you have the view of Lana’i island, and depending on the time of year, the sun will set either over that island, or during the summer, in the channel between Lana’i and Moloka’i.
