Outside Phoenix, on the Apache Trail, is an Arizona State Park at the foot of the Superstition Mountains, called Lost Dutchman State Park. For $15 / night, you can camp – if you have an RV, many of the spots have water & power hookups. The newest image from Pono Images is the view from this place, right before sunrise – a bit of purple colors on the Superstition Mountains at dawn.
This place is always changing. During the spring, the cactus may be in bloom along with the wildflowers. In the fall, as things start to cool down from a long Arizona summer, the brush ranges in color from brown to green, with saguaro and cholla cactus on the slopes below the mountain. Hiking the mountain is a good day hike – and requires plenty of water even in the fall. But, if you get an early start, this is your view as you head out.
And, to help you remember your hike – this image is available for sale here on the Pono Images website, as well as at FineArtAmerica.com.
