One of the first ones available from my most recent photo trip to Maui, is this new image, “Under Mala Wharf”.
Last summer, I traveled back to Maui. Many have heard of the infamous “Road to Hana” – for that drive, you go through Kahului, Paia, and then on to Hana. But there is another road. The road that goes past Hana, continues past the Pools of Oheo, Kaupo, past Kanaio and the Maui Winery in Ulupalakua, and into Kula.
When taking landscape photos, whether you’re using a professional DSLR camera, or something as simple and convenient as your cell phone, it may seem difficult to get that “perfect shot”. Yet, other times, without even trying, you find that you took that “amazing” photo, but are unsure as to how you did that so you can duplicate your success the next time you take a photo. Here’s some ideas that may help make your next landscape photos much more satisfying!

Last week, I did a bit of hiking around Green Mountain – along the west edge of the Denver Metro area. Like my post from the other day, I’ve hiked this area for over 20 years. I’ve experienced mule deer and coyotes, as well as the occasional rattlesnake, on my hikes along the west side trails.
This view of the Denver Skyline at sunrise was shot last week from the slopes of Green Mountain, a small mesa that sits against the foothills along the west edge of the Denver Metro Area. This spot is on Alameda Parkway, about 1/2 mile south of Green Mountain High School. There’s a parking lot with access to the Green Mountain Open Space at William Fredrick Hayden Park.
On this past shoot, I spent some time exploring the island of Lanai. And, out of that trip, I’ve got the first image now available for purchase – “On the road to Lanai City”.
I’ll have a number of new Hawai’i images coming over the next few weeks, but the first of the new shoot is out today – “Mala Wharf Sunset” – available for order off of both this site, 500px.com, and at Fine Art America .
